The history of the cottage on Middelplaas (Middle Farm) is unknown. It is the only house on Middelplaas and was probably many decades ago used as a residence for the people looking after the farm for the owners who lived elsewhere in the valley. Over the years it became very run down before it was renovated by the present owners into a cottage with the most beautiful view over the olive orchard, veld and mountains.
- In the main bedroom there is a double bed, the second bedroom has 2 single beds.

- The lounge has an open fireplace for heating in winter, or the occasional braai.
- There is an air conditioner in the lounge.
- The sheltered stoep overlooking the veld and mountains is the ideal entertainment area with enough seating for guests.
- There is a circular braai on the grass adjacent to the stoep.
- Braai grids, fire tongs and swartpotjie available.
- The kitchen is equipped with all the required utensils, including cutlery, crockery, kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge/freezer and stove.
- There is a washing machine available in the nearby shed.
- The bathroom has a shower, basin, and toilet.
- On hot summer days you can go for a swim in the river at our nearby private picnic site.
- The cottage has security screens in front of all windows and doors.
Tariffs for
Middelplaas
- This self-catering unit costs R705 for one person, R1,210 for 2 people, R1,815 for 3 people and R2,420 for 4 people, per night.
- From 1 March 2027 this self-catering unit costs R741 for one person, R1,282 for 2 people, R1,923 for 3 people and R2,564 for 4 people, per night.
- Terms are 50% of total amount as deposit and confirmation of the booking into the bank account; the remaining 50% is payable 3 days prior to occupation.
- Children under 12 pay 50%
- Pensioners get 3rd day free during week, excluding school holidays.
